Hey thanks RugPro. Ardbel weave is a new term for me--interesting. I'll have to read up on it and see what I can learn.

How about the age on this rug? Price?

ardabil by single image view of the general rug. Specifically the selvages - they're white, probably cotton single wrap on single warp cord. The only thing throwing me for a loop would be the design - they're not known for having kazak interprations and the blue is somewhat lighter in saturation than normally seen.

If you have additional images you can post, please do. normal online review entails closer inspection of the weave, selvages, knots and fringe going into the kilim and or pile

cant really say age, region or other definitively without these images.

This carpet is really made in Turkey. I do not think that he was more than 20 years old. 350 $ - real retail price in Turkey.

I'm going to agree with bukhara on this one. $350 seems a bit steep for a newish Turkish rug listed on craigslist. I would sell this rug for less than that in my shop.

They say they bought it as Turkish in the post. The colors are terrible and the picture of the back
is from a different rug. A collector wouldn't look twice at this maybe a decorator would.
