This rug is at a local garage sale. It is 4X6 for $400. I was struck by the borders, but wish the pictorial was classic tree of life.
The owner says it is a qhom, or is it an isfahan? She also says it is natural dye.
Obviously ghoms are not antique since they are new comers, but is this an earlier, 50's-60' rug? I put a quarter on the back and got around 15 rows.
It looks as if it has never been on the floor and loops sewn on. The seller is a well to do Iranian. I like to buy personal rugs from Iranian since it seem as if they would have the knownledge to buy the best. Although the older person I am buying if from does not have any knowledge about the rug
I don't have the rug, but there is something about it that makes it hard to pass up.
Any info on the rug would be appreciated. My questons are if is it ghom, organic and older. The only importance of age is the colors seem unique.
Thanks
