...i'm not too familiar w/ these rugs, but am starting to really dig them...
found this on craigslist, seller states:
"...rug is in excellent condition for being approximately 100 years old. No stains, tears, rips , smells. We don't have kids or pets and while improbable even to me, we have not spilled red wine on it. Fringe is original. Rug is late 19th, early 20th century. Rug is in storage now, not in use."
rug is approximately 6' 11" by 10' 3" and has a pad cut to fit... from my quick observation, it looks like it's been shortened w/ a repair similar to what was done on our sarouk...
...asking price: 2000
so, what do 'we' think...
thanks.
ps...we are completely enjoying the sarouk we found and had repaired...it just looks amazing in our bedroom and am glad we did the repairs to get rid of the foolish fake fringe... i did have mo of connoisseur rug give me his estimate, and he thought it was worth roughly 3500 to 4000...just for reference... either way, we love it and will hope to have it for it's next 80+ years...
