I have been dealing with rugs for about a year now. But have not spent much time to read up on silk rugs. This rug belongs to a friend of mine.

by my count the knots are about 22x24 or about 520kpsi The rug is at least 10 years old Pile and foundation appear to be real silk not art silk The pile is in rough shape it received regular traffic for the last 5 years

Yes. Looks like China silk. Nice appearance, makes me wonder that hat the frings are still intact. I remember the last one i saw did not have any. They are so thin!
