More from mothers house, not sure who is interested in saddle bags, but here are a couple that I spend a great deal of time on watching tv. We did not have enough chairs in the family room so we used the saddle bags as floor pillows. I liked the pillows so much that I purchased a pair for my own house. ( I will put picuters of them up later.) I believe that these saddle bags were purchased as pillows around 1970.

Brad
Looks like Afshar weaving. 1930? In Germany we call the design "Meder-Stern". The Baluch do have similar cover with smaller stars.

I like saddle bags and have bought a number of them. Another cool thing you can do and I have done is separate the two sides and use one as a seat cushion and the matching half fill lightly and tie to the back of the chair around the back supports. Speaking of dining room chairs or that type, not recliners. It's very eye-catching. I sewed on braided ties I made in matching colors and they look fantastic. Using several different bags in this way on a whole set of dinnig room chairs would be amazing.
