I have bought, but not recieved this rug on Ebay for $169, 5X7. It was tucked away where a typical search won't find it.
I only have the two pictures suppled by seller, and the only reason I post it before recievng it is an offer on another rug I will post on a second topic. If the first rug is legit, it should say something about the second

My google search for blue fringe, blue weft only list mashad, which is also listed as always curved.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

The way to clear the identity of a rugs over its structure isn´t easy especially with new rugs. There are not enough notes about new weavings.
This blue-gray frings are typical for modern Afghan/Pakistan/Kashmir rugs and Kilims, RugPro told before. I would estimate it is an Afghnaistan rug.

It is a small possibility that this rug is from Afghanistan, but I think that it is more likely that this would be a Gouchan from northwest Iran. They have this type of fringe.

Jahanns got a good point there

Btuma, please do post more images the way they are outlined here. You have a lot of people who are very familiar with rugs now guessing! That's not the best way to get info and we may have to delete the thread if proper pics aren't linked thru! d'oh!

Where it was woven isn't really the issue. I think some transplanted Turkmen that were forced to move and ended up wherever made both rugs. Some of the guls and the side cords on the one rug look like Turkmen. I can't find an example right now but I've seen them on Yomud rugs. Why else would the side cords be like that? If you know please let me know because I'm not aware or Baluchi or Afgani weavers doing this. Thanks

RugPro, the two pictures are all I have. When I recieve it, hopefully on Wednesday, I will immediately add the addition pictures. I sent it early trying to decided if I should purchase the second rug which I did after getting your comments. I paid $175 or it.

Thanks,
