Several month ago RugTalker posted an older, most comments said it was from the "70s. Isfahan of which sparked my interest in myself having such a rug.
Last Friday I took a seven hour round trip drive to purchase this rug in Seattle. The mileage and gas was free, and I had the day off without anything else to do. I am hanging the rug, and although I would like to know the worth, I will not be sellng the rug.
The rug is 50"X74" and I purchased it for $250 from a private party off Craigslist. I've done alot of Google work, but yet I'm lost.
The images certainly look like a fine isfahan with somewhere around 400 kpsi ( I fins it is impossible for me to count the weft).
Correct me if I'm wrong in any of my above assumption includng vicinity of knot count. I am asking the question since I don't have the answers, want to know more about the rug, and as a learning tool.
Which brings me to age. The surface certanly looks very recent. To my eye it is almost flawless. However, I have read some comments on cotton/wool smaller fine rugs being older plus the blue salvage.
What is the age? Is it a 1950s rug or much later 80s-90's, and what is it's worth.
Thank you for any comments.
