Hello all,
Could I please get some feedback on this carpet please. I purchased this while in Turkey in 1996. I was told it was a Hereke carpet, but to this day I'm still unsure. Any guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. The solid area measures 26 inches by 40 inches. Im thinking about advertising on Ebay and would like to know it's worth as well.

Best regards,
Brian

Hello bstroop,

Knowing the knot count in these rugs will help in ascertaining value. So, we'll need to see a photograph of the knots with a quarter or a ruler, that's image number 4.

We'll also need to see number 2 & 3 again on the same page linked.

The clearer the images, the better. Many of these rugs now on the market were made in China. We may be able to reinforce true Turkish by looking at high quality pictures.

Welcome to the forum,

All the best,

Don´t be afraid...it is a Hereke produktion. Probably not the finest one, but not from China.

I agree with Chris, probably not a knock off so don't fret. Problem is, knock off or not, they're not fetching what they used to. I never like to say for sure without having sharper images. Saw a really good knock off a while ago, wasn't 100% rigid like many of typical chinese rugs. But we will need more pictures to say anything about value as Dave mentioned, especially the knots
