apx 12ft x 7.5 (doesn't include fringe)
Was bought by my father at an estate sale in Georgetown, Texas apx 10 years ago (unknown price or age, however the home was one of the oldest in the town). He has always called it the Persian ("Get those cats off the Persian!" or "No shoes on the Persian!!!") so I assume that's what it is. I remember it being in our home, low traffic area (one of those rooms w/fancy chairs that no one ever uses - haha). There is a stain on the fringe (photo below) that I remember being there as long as we've had it, so I don't know what it is. There is also a loose/torn thread (if that's what it's called - photos below). Other than that, and a little wear on one edge (photo below) it is in very good condition. I'd appreciate any info you can gather by looking at these photos, and if you require any additional photos I'd be more than happy to oblige! I know nothing about rugs...so the more info I can get from you, the better! I'd love to know as much about it as I can.
The rug has very vibrant red, dark blue, and a light blue that stands out beautifully. In the design there are birds (peacocks?), rabbits, and antelope (I believe...my nephew says they're llamas...but then again he's 9 years old and I believe Llamas are native to South America).
Photos are linked to my photobucket (public) account. I took photos based on the "4 Basic Photos" link on this site. I wasn't sure about the 1st photo it suggested I take (w/the dots) but I believe the "top" of the rug is at the top of my photo (looks like ends are tied off there?).
note: once you click the link to the photo, if you click the photo it will enlarge.
