Does anyone have any recommendations on removal of 'coal stains' from a carket. My tennants work at a power plant and have soiled the cartpet with 'coal chips' which have rubbed into the beige carpet.
Thanks,

First I am guessing that this is wall to wall carpeting. If so it is most likely a nylon fiber (most common but that is not an absolute) and the best solution is to have it professionally cleaned. Cleaning of this is as with most any carpet from most any fiber.....it is best to be done quickly and before the stain is "ground in".

Unfortunately, if this has been going on for several months, I suspect your best option will be to replace it.

Well i am not having any great idea but it may help you in your case. there are some steps to remove the stains of coal from your rugs.?

1. First of all use the products like baking powder or cornstarch on the stain and then vacuum the carpet.

2. With the white cloth you should sponge the strain untill the solvent is absorved.

3. Repeat the steps untill you got the clean and clear carpet stain free.

You can use the liquid detergent also fro removing the stain.
