I have recently inherited a rug that I remember seeing in my house as a child and now have it in my own home. My mother didnt give me any information except that its oriental. I have no idea how old it is, where it came from or even what kind it is! But if I can just get a little information so that I can possibly sell it, it would be worth getting it identified. it is 24in by 36in, seems to be in decent condition except for the few cat hairs that is on it. any thoughts? pictures below.

didn't see the full photo that was attached. It's a much older chinese rug made by hand. the design is on the verge of deco, probably around 1910 or thereafter. condition may not be great. some end loss, lower areas.

pics are good. they literally call these "antique chinese" rugs i think selling for $100 would be fair to ask, but may need to negotiate a bit. it has isolated wear and looks kinda heavy

so it is not a nichols? what do you mean by "heavy"? At what point were these "antique chinese" made? and do you know where?

probably not a nichols. wear is "heavy" showing knot heads. your rug is from around 1910. made in china.
