Hi, i am just starting to learn about the world of rugs... A dealer of questionable repute at the Southdale Center mall in Edina, MN--specifically Global Direct(incorporated as Global Trading Partners, Inc.)--sold me this rug for $550, and told me it was a good deal worth more than that. He claimed it was 300 KPSI. I have since learned to count KPSI, and i believe this is more like 80 KPSI. So the question is, at 550, did i get suckered?? I absolutely intend to follow up with my attorney general's office and maybe small claims court, if in fact the value of this rug is significantly less than 550. Thanks for any help!

on my pics of whole rug, the grains running leftish to rightish

Well...i am from Germany. You are showing a quarter with a diameter of about 1 inch, isn´t it? I count 7,5 knots. So it is 56 kpsi.
It seems to be a Tabriz from nothern Iran, thats the truth. The size are about 10-7 ft? You bought the rug in a carpet shop for the prize of 550,- USD. I have to tell you that everything seems to be allright.
But if you want ask the seller about a rebate because of the false knot description.

good photos. looks like a low grade tabriz. def. not 300 kpsi. maybe a 9x9 at best. On ebay you can sometmies find cheaper, but not by too much. less risk seeing it in person and maybe having to send back through the mail. THAT can get expensive.
