Hi,
I recently acquired a 9 x 12 rug, looks hand made and has a lion dog motif with some symbols. I could use a little help with identification and value, I can email pictures, thanks
Mike

Newer Chinese Rug. Cannot see the back so I can't tell if it is one of those tufted ones. Cannot handle it so I can not judge if it is of the type that sheds wool like sick old cats. Not good with values on this but I guess it depends on who you are and what you are looking for . I personally would pass at $20 ( for the whole rug ) but depending on size and factor it could retail up to like $20 per sqft. I apologize in advance if I have insulted anyone as such was not intended.

hi,

Caring transitions, we would be more than happy to take a look at more rugs too, the best thing to do is read the necessary images.

My guess is this is a Chinese 90 line. as hadjibaba said, perhaps as much as $20 per square foot retail in new condition, however the market is very soft, and as a private party individual, even in excellent to mint condition, the whole rug may be as little as $500-800, less for quick sale. It would help to see more images for better assessment, but this is going on my experience and making assumptions of this being a chinese 90 line, in like new condition, no stains, moth, damage, etc....

On ebay you can find them very cheap. If you plan on selling, have it verified, it should help you get more in the end.

Looks like a hand tufted to me. (90 line could even be a little generous but....)
At retail I think it will be closer to $11 or $12 per sq ft and wouldn't be at all surprised to see $10.
