The usual official looking tag say this is a 10' by 11' tabriz. I wouldn't have a clue this was even Persian let alone Tabriz without a border. I will be adding some more pictures

Months ago I had a rug RugPro stated had a floating border, but I have never seen a rug of this type of design. Can you please illuminate me. The rug is in very good shape however, there are two rows of panels that are dimmer than the rest. Would this be a "different dye lot"?

Thanks

May be a Tabriz. probably just outside but would have to see better detail. I had a very similar one many years ago, but newer. That rug had some very unusual design elements in it.

This carpet has a lot of elementsyou see in other rugs. it's just called a panel design.

Looks like it may have some abrash, but the photo apears like there may be a smudge on the lens

be careful because the rug looks like it may have heavy wear and some foundation showing.

These are the additional pictures. The middle picture has the two rows that are not as vivid. Actually the rug has very mnimal wear throughout the rug

My objectgive is to find out more about a tabriz like this. I liked it because it isn't the common, but maybe it's more common than I think. Most of the panel rugs I've seen, which is limited, still have some type of border. I even had some question if it had been cut.

it is a bit more unusual. It's good to question whether it's been reduced. From what I see, and going on this is probably not reduced. Just a panel design with more informal weaving. it appears to have a salt and pepper weave in some of the grey area too. pretty cool. doesn't make it more valuable, but a neat point of reference. some of the panel designs appear to be borrowed from more tribal rugs and newer more geometric garden rugs
