I recently inherited an estate which was filled with old rugs. Some are very worn, and some seem to be in very nice shape.
These rugs have been in the family for atleast 100 years as far as I know.

I am looking for any information available. (Age, Type,Value, Is it worth it to have them repaired etc)

Hope someone can help!

The first is the largest. It is 9'x12'. Does have a hole as pictured, and some very bad wear in spots.
One end shows better color than the other, and the second picture is a better representation of the color than the full rug shot.
The darkened spots you see that look like mass staining in the pics, are shadows from the railing, sorry.

The Second Rug has very rich colors, directional, and is 80"x50"

Third Rug is very thin, and faded. 40"x 60"

Fourth rug is more pastel colors . The colors of the front are much more true when you see them in the second closeup picture of the back corner.
78"x52" some of the edge is unraveling and it has a few small stains.

Sorry if this was too much info at once!

overall, some very beautiful carpets. condition would be of concern as some look to need some good attention before use. this can be cost prohibitive and very time consuming but you should be able to get some decent money from the rugs altogether. Not an incredible amount because the market is soft in general. Some of the rugs are coarser weave than others, but for older carpets this doesn't matter too much. The rug with the most value would be that 9x12, but i would be wary of the ripped area, if this is dry, it's a very tough fix.
