In general, W. Turkish rugs use more primary colors (think of a basic set of crayons: red, yellow, blue, green, purple, brown, black), in simple combinations. The more you head east (and further from the popular tourism spots), the more you see rugs that reflect "Turkish" colors and color combinations: pistachio greens mixed with blueish reds for instance. This is all SO hard to put into words. You just CAN'T learn these subtleties online...
