I thought this was an interesting link by Jilly. The seller says it's Isfahan, but most everything about it, including the flatwoven areas, kilim, edges, fringe, appears to be a Chinese Hereke. For some reason I just don't trust that importer tag.

hmm, the kilim reminds me of an Indian rug but I don't have photos.
The seller is one of those many IDs for one company in South Carolina.

I am working and just saw this. I am sure you are right, I feel intuitively....re all of the above. But boy, that is still a gorgeous rug whatever its actual origin. I have no use for this rug but I would still like to have it. lol I like the colors, what I see as harmony and balance, that it is part pile and part woven, I like the kpsi and I like the crested bird.

People who erode trust are exhausting. People who earn it and augment it, the opposite. Why can't they just tell the truth?

WOW! I wonder what was up with that Souf Kashan. it looks like it was used, but if it's in good condition, that's a good deal

I would have no clue re the value in either currency......but I think the whole world is being impacted by the meltown and there are fewer people with deep pockets. Even at Christie's auctions. Here or across the Pond.

I definitely have the rug sickness tho. lol

Well, Netjim is right and I will extend it employing creative license..there is indeed, a giant Rug Walmart in one of the Carolinas using different names and they get the same stuff from the same supplier, OMG, wut is the PURPOSE OF THIS????? Are these 3 separate rugs? One rug offered under three different vendor names? What is this????????

If I had 50,000 + rugs I wanted to sell - mostly on e-bay or at least on-line - I would probably look into having multiple IDs and assigning each to a specific employee to monitor.

U luv rugs too much ot mass market. Motherboard & widgets, fine.....handknotted rugs, no.
