I perused this site during my manic Rug Hunt, learned things, i.e, this man's take on rugs now being made, Iran versus other countries, I feel is accurate....
What Country Makes the Best Rugs?
No one country has established itself as making the best rugs. For years Iran was most highly regarded, but now she seems to have fallen behind many other countries in the use of natural dyes. Many of the best rugs today come from Turkey, India, Pakistan (made by Afghan refugees), Nepal and China. A small production of tribal rugs with a lot of character come out of Afghanistan.
But the rug he offers below is the only Sarouk I have seen I like even better than the dream rug I got:

"OLD" is hardly the data one would like, no condition listed, images of underside.....but I think it is gorgeous, also not unlike mine....plus, who does not have $14,500 to spend on a rug, right? lol
