Hi for a Change.

Re this neo Mashad I was on my way to getting should the vendor ever let me count the knots by sending me the image I asked for... http://rover.ebay.com/ro...9&mtid=824&kw=lg

I now have a question about the field design. I try to scale something I like to Real Size within the room in my exhausted brain. This is large rug. 9 X 12. While we (read: Pro) seem to find it awesome in the pics.....
PLS "SEE IT' IN YR MIND as it will actually be. I am used to finely rendered but vivid, crisp field details as per my sarouk. I like them. I LUV THEM. they WORK. Everyone notices and adores the rug but it does not call yr attention to it every second! For me, the Right Rug will be everpresent, gloroius foundation for the room, but also not some focal point. The rug should augment everything else in the room.

Kinda like a good stage set; the set augments the essence of the production, it does not detract from it by calling yr eye to it ongoing. While the colors in this rug are subtle and muted, don mean that given the above I recently noticed, it wouldn't be an annoying focal point. I now think, U can have a rug with brilliant colors, but if the field design is fine and subtle.....it will integrate far better. Am I nuts? OK, yes.lol But I mean now hallucinating re this new design insight?

Again, that silk (Hi maintenance) rug from China I adored......hugely complex, brilliant & many colors & detials......but overall essence would enhance, not detract. No? Yes?

Am I making this new concern clear? Aren't the individual field details in this rug too BIG???????? Even verging on vulgar?

Edit: Illustration-experiment, below: I made the image of the rug 9" wide on my LCD. In other words, one inch=one foot. I then measured the field detail I have circled. In person, it is a foot and a half! Do U see what I am now getting here? The field details are each over a FOOT?????? And the round thingies in the field even bigger? Like 18" EACH??????

This is a beautiful carpet.

Large designs are among the more popular today, because (if done well) can marry antique elements with contemporary style.

Not sure what you don't like about it...

Another thing I did not know.....popular today. I was coming from a very basic place having discovered the design elements in this one are each over a foot in diameter and many close to 18". I tired to delineate my issues with this in detail. Not sure which antique design elements these emulate. I can only think of classic, Victorian cabbage rose stuff. Like wall paper from the baroque part of the 19th century. It's just I never saw giant design details of this nature before. More important: I did ot get they were as giant as they are from the pic. Until I noticed, scaled it up so I could determine their actual size.

I am also not prisoner of trends. Evah. I could not care less (thank goodness).....tho I was into a la mode in HS and college when I was a larvae.

Does this help explain my new issues? I hope. Again, pls remember, as I tried to explain it in detail, why I like rugs which contribute luminously but do not call yr attention to them or are distractions. It is also why I am usually adverse to rugs with even bold center medallions.

It is also distinct possibility I am stuck in something and not open to seeing why the giant field details contribute positively. It is already requiring daily follow up to send Am back. I do not wanna send an even more giant rug back. I will need to focus on something I despise: trying to sell the garbage rug, i only learned here is worth maybe sumthin.. I am not good at selling things.

Sorry, I gotta be a nag. I am trying to avoid mistakes. Pro.....have you translated this rug to visualize in person with the field details measuring mostly 18" each? In a NOT SPARTAN LIVINGROOM?

Have you seen a rug with giant field details in person? I promise, I do not mean to insult or in any way trivialize who you are and all U Bring. I just need to get this right.
