Regard the field color. THAT was the field color of my rug. But I liked the details in my field better. I also liked the classic navy borders. This is SMALL. Good perhaps for a small bedroom. But look at the CONDITION!!!!! Mine was not as mint as this. Feel the GLOW? THAT....is the X Factor. It nourishes you, it warms you; U wanna roll around on it.

Now, this, boys & girls....is MY idea of a Sarouk. It is on the level of those I grew up with. Let's give it up for this rug!!!! And how very few verging on almost none.....have I seen so far even close to this....including for serious money.

I don't understand.... didn't you start out looking at $2000 rugs? and now all the info has you falling back into the lower priced rugs?

In a way yes. I explained it last nite. I have come to, what I can get for my budget....I started thinking around around 2K.....given what I have seen, at that level of slightly under...I can not stomach or has major condition issues (in room sized rugs). However, before you saved me froM it....at least I saw the muddy.....the Hunting Rug aSKING price was $1,100. Another example of smoke & mirrors. HAD I NOT LANDED HERE.....I would know diddly.

Agian, I have come to, what I really adore is always at least 5K. Think about it. 2K or slightly below: merda. Very interesting thing. I also posted that learning what I have to this point, I would rather have something I really like, which brings me joy, and which might not last.....than something made better which is older.....I either don like or, with, at that level, inevitable condition issues.

I now see CATEGORIES. I know, cause you said, you felt I could get something really wonderful for under 2K. But so far, I have not come upon ONE THING. NOT ONE. That, is a fact. And I include all of Joe's entirely marginal Sarouks for around that price. Not the last two from him I posted for way more than that.

Meanwhile re this thread, here is an even more amazing one from this vendor......this reminds me of the colors in the giant Sarouk, but different field details. It is TINY> BUT omg.....FABULOUS. Major X Factor. http://rover.ebay.com/ro...9&mtid=824&kw=lg

Amazing rug. Also worth every penny.

check out the Heriz! 5 mins to go and look where it is now!!!!

I set out with a budget above which I could do, but at the cost of sleep. Now I know far more, and see what the real options are. Even the sarouks I was drawn to on Live auction have all gone for over $2,500. That's a hammer price, without sometimes 24% buyer's premium and shipping.

Have I cleared this up a little, I hope? It is called Jill is learning, and with some pain, gettin Real.

I AM NOT selecting rugs by price range except for under often 2K. I have been looking for rugs I am intensely attracted to. I would have given 670 for that first Heriz in a heartbeat.....tho someone beat me to it for another 20... and that is part of ebay, I guess. If I spent twice that on someting more "investment worthy".....based only on what I have seen so far.....I would not be happy with the result.

I could be wrong; I hope I am.....but this is my empirical reality at this moment.

Do YOU see anything of decent size...8 X10 or 11 would do--- and fabulousness in any genre for 2K without serious issues?

I want you live!!! And not be looking for rugs for other people!!!! Do U not do Enough for the rug addicted?

Isn't that tiny antique Sarouk above, the second link.....fabulous? I wonder why they made such tiny ones??? Now look at that glorious X Factor defining creature and envision it huge---prolley around 12 X 18 or around that.. And without the curvilinear accents and center detail....tho I luv those.....but with all over pattern.

Pls do not waste time looking for rugs!!! U underestimate the contributions you make! Most recently, U saved me from the muddy and flawed hunting rug...forget yet another lilihan!!!! And that.... was only in the last 24 minutes! lol
