This is, in important ways, merda. Puerile, arbitrary, tepid colors, and overhyped as usual...yadda, yadda. But there is no harm in asking questions; that is how I learn and grow. The KPSI of even a new Sarouk made by small children chained to a wall still something to think about......tho rug very NOT what I was yearning for in a replacement Sarouk, but that is now in the recycle bin; the real world & gathering hard data mitigate many things:

One more if I may, Nassau: I get this is no way kindred to the spectacular, first quarter of 20th c. "American' Sarouks I grew up with, as did my mom; I get this is neo, Less Than field & border detail....but good provenance comes at very high price......but is there any abrash? Has anyone some clue about the dye? Is the wool luminous? Has this puppy been treated? Lustre washed?

Can U send more pics made with a 20MP SLR with: accurate field color; pile breeched; and a quarter on the underside so I can count?
How is the LIE? Still gridlocked?

Real luminous owes nothing to treatment. But new Persian rugs I get.....just do not have it. Would rather one did no, than emulated via nefarious means.

I've seen this seller on ebay. they're one of the most offensive when it comes to accurately describing items. Doesn't mean you shouldn't bid, but as we've talked about before, this often translates into other aspects of doing business.

i doubt natural dye, they call it orange for the color, this is not a "museum" rug as they call it, I sincerely doubt the KPSI is over 200, let alone 250. Lastly, the photographs are not detailed enough to determine origin. They call this a farahan design, but it's actually an american sarouk design with covered field of floral sprays.

What does this mean? It's okay to purchase from a less reputable seller, but make sure everything is spelled out. Not on the phone, but in words on an email regarding return policy and if they refund shipping... make sure that's all in order before purchasing. If you do not like the rug, last thing you want to deal with is sending or driving 75 lbs of wool and cotton back to these guys.

Last thing I want to mention about this seller. A while back I saw suspicious bidding activity. not on just one rug, but multiple rugs over an extended period of time. Shill bidding is out there, and something to protect yourself from. Jilly, Krow's suggestion was good about sniping at the last minute. If you are serious about getting a rug, don't feed into the last minute throwing down of 2 or three bids.

Decide what you would be willing to pay for this rug, if it has not already exceeded that by the time there's 10 minutes left, throw your bid down last minute. There are a lot of free services out there for eBay sniping. I believe auction sniper is a good one to use, although it does not promise action, there are upgrades for paid account where they may.

Note: in that little jocular section in one of my mails to them....pls do this and that.....I wasn't really kidding about what I asked for. Maybe it is vegetable dye....but from a vat with a Tropicana logo.

PS, I do not like the rug, as per above, I see every part of what it isn't; I was drawn to the ostensible KPSI.....but did I know wut U just shared? OMG....no. The nefarious factor rarely strikes me.....cause for me, it is foreign. I now get, we tend to think others are like we.

Was hoping the infamous Winehouse right might arrive today.....maybe tomorrow. I need a laugh.

No.....there is uber harm, forget, no upside. Truth is God. (Also, Google) Again, I do not like the rug, I liked the KPSI as they depicted them. But I also believed what they wrote in reply to my mails. I mean people ask me questions, I give them ACCURATE ANSWERS.

Edit: From jump on eBay, I got the decide what you are willing to pay phenomenon. I have implemented this succesfully re everything from jeans to Optiplexes. But I know the value of all of those. in this, Murky Marks. TRue...I am getting sharper, but I see, NOT SHARP ENOUGH TO EVEN CUT ICE CREAM.

I also had no clue shilling existed on ebay. Wouldn't U think someone high up would monitor that? I guess you would not assume if U had a brain.

Jilly, I think we saw this one before, you don't like it? It looks a lot longer on one side, but he's got a best offer on it, maybe he'd accept a fair offer

Indeed (also alas) we have seen it before. Pro....I know what a consummate act of courage it is for you to look at new, knock off rugs without hurling. I truly do. This one form Joe...I again find painful. Again, it makes excruciating contrast to mine; the colors are pathetic, they have Given Up, "soft" in no way marker for GOOD.....and the border is not simply overbearing & ENCROACHING, but even worse: ARBITRARY. It neither supports nor compliments the field. And the pale blue tepid gratuitous flora... OK for state funerals.....but not even for Baby Phat jeans.

Otherwise, I luv it. lol

Pls, it upsets me you now feel impelled to find the Jillly Rug!!!! Let me do the hunting; the hunting NOT YOUR JOB, (O mah Gh-OD) When I post a new find, I will harvest and cherish yr responses. That is more than enuff, believe me.
