Too high a sheen. Sometimes they call it a lemon wash. Basically gives the wool a higher luster often with the use of chemicals. Not uncommon for some cleaners to do this to emphasis the "clean" new, fresh appearance. it works best on rugs that already have good wool. Very Shiny

Could that not be sunllight? Or other light? Or the flash hitting elevated parts????? I still think cept for the sky blue....it is very special rug.
Prepare for bourgeois: I like the sheen. I know.....it's sad.

Anyone but Jill awake at this Moment, SHAME ON YOU!!!!

What upsets me about the design came in clearly in a flash: The painted shade of red in the field, and i do now see more halos, is very UNFORGIVING SHADE. the border of a rug, should be either compatible with the field or must provide contrast without RATTLING & fragmenting the eye. THIS BORDER DOES NOT DO THAT RE THIS FIELD. I think that is bad design. It giveS me cramps a little.

Pls check thhis and ponder. The border is not sympatico with the rest of the rug, noR does it augment iT in any organic way!!!! THE FIELD AND THE BORDER's respective essences are DISPARATE....almost antithetical to each other. I think it simply does not WORK AS A SINGLE UNIT. Esp the COLORS, but also the designs.

I am totally exhausted now. hahahahah I am.

Final on this: I looked at this at intervals....so I might see it more objectively. This may be my uneducated eye, but for me, the lack of harmony between the field and the border is there, and if so, would upset me every day. Could be just me. I have tried hard to see it more positively.

Would this were not so, cause it's in decent shape, vintage, a Sarouk, even the right size... and I could afford it.
