I never posted in this Forum. To rein in my hope re this rug tomorrow & to mitigate my anxiety.....I am, as usual, scrolling compulsively thru rugs on ebay.between clients.

Here is another vintage Sarough from Joe

Now, I think it's abysmal.....I hate the colors, it has no luminosity, and it looks as if a chicken rendered the field detail. It also has some serious wear in big corner area as you will see. Pls also notice, the "weight" of the feel of the field is trumped disturbingly by the BIG weight of the borders. The borders were Not rendered by chickens.

Pls see his asking price. It is low. I mean, lower than I expected.

Is this hardly classic, hardly even attractive (at least to me) Sarouk more "trendy" or desirable than the one I am going to see which reminds me of mine? How would they equate re value? Given, that is, how disparate their respective asking prices.

This is a no go. Appears poorly painted, blotchy, color run and generally looks like mush. Kinda disappointed. Not the best design either, price could be lowered a bit due to the issues. Your rug will show soon

Take a look at the CL rug

OMG, O Mah Ghad. who needs cardio? sitting right here, in one second, seeing this, my heart reached its training rage.. HOW did you fnd this???? A true MIRACLE.

It's a free country.....now, I mean, not week before last....he has every right to sell his rug anyway he can, OK? But his head is stuck in the vapor of faux appraisals.

Plus, my point to him that it is painted and so could not be 1900.....he seems to have addressed in his ebay listing. He is forthcomnig about condition, but neither his reserve on ebay nor his asking price on Craigslist reflects any of it.

KNOT HEADS!!!!! Eeeeewwww!!! Tho I will see them up close in person tomorrow, forget make many macromode images of them using every one of my 8MPs. Now, I can be the considerate, but CANDID Jilly I AM. I will now not take tons of pics....cuase at least he posted more on ebay....now depiciting the reality accurately.

Bless you for having made the time to search, the smarts to find it, the generosity to post it... and thank God I saw it!

Yes, the trapezoid creeps me out....but the knotheads are a deal breaker. I would not give 700 for this once magnificent rug. Someone was mean to it...did not honor and respect it. And mainly, between his initial appraisal and his last. I get he is a musician. Bet METAL.

re Joe's Sarough....Pro, did I not explain the field was rendered by chickens? See their little chicken feet tracks??? Did U think I was KIDDING?.

heh.

I think I should go see the amputated one. OK let us review: the trapezoid one with the bones showing, the chickenfeet one, the amputated one, the moth eaten one, the tepid washed out one.....this is whole HBO comedy-tragedy special, right? I so appreciate all of this....including yr encouragement that my rug will come along. Get the violins.

This is by far the funniest most concentrated post I've ever read. I think this is HBO material without a doubt.

LMAO there's a reason why they make cameras with such high res. We will carefully review every photo

Lol, "the trapezoid" being a severely distorted floorcovering. All those years of being square and it wasn't a bad thing? Never heard one call a rug names, but this may be worthy of new carpet slang. Creeps me out a bit too, but we'll see what it's about tomorrow.

It helps to see the rug in person to determine how images may sometimes display or otherwise translate areas of wear.

Sounds like a slim pickin', but it should get better. It's worth making the rounds now to see what's out there if you have the time. I think as spring rolls around more people are going to be ready to sell as said before. Even at the high profile auctions, there have been nicer pieces come to the block than there have been for many years.

P.S. "the amputated" one was not THAT bad. Just some of the area just before the minor guard border.

Thaks you for the above Pro.....it repaired my sadness!!!!!

Bet that more good things are showing up a simple reflection of the meltdown. Very sad. Wonder if it also means the prices will come down as well??????

Only thing....I thik the rugs I can see n person as per earlier today. are a small percentage of what is out there. And again, I now see clearly your sahyng seeing them in perosn is bottom line.....is right.

I think tomorrow, I iwll go see the amputation rug. Cause I am off during the day and I now have some momentum & CONFIDENCE RE i HONESTLY KNOW WHAT i AM LOOKING AT MORE!

So many rugs and so much chicanery. U gotta be a special person to be a rug person, boy; yr ENDS must be intact. lol
