Was wondering if someone could help me identify a rug...photos included.

Also, as you can see in the photo, there is a dog on the rug... a somewhat important note, because while it has been in the family for a while, the person who purchased it in the 1950's has now passed away...and other family members are totally disrespecting it in every possible way...(high traffic walking area, etc)...just a note that might help explain the condition...IE: fringe is now gone.

also, an value asessments?... thank you for your help

Hello and welcome to the forum. Is it possible to get additional photographs of the reverse side and one corner where the fringe would have gone into the rugs like these

1: Whole rug

2 fringe:

3 edge:

This way we can give better insight

I like the dog in the first photo, meant to mention that. Otherwise, I can't say general value unless seeing the whole rug. What I can tell you is there are some conditional issues. This rug shows some moth damage at the corners, blooming of the wool, signs of wear, loss to fringe, etc. Probably not too old a rug 1950's sounds just about right. It looks like a Kerman milfleur which means it's likely a rug from Kerman in Persia, with a Milfleur design which translates to "thousand flowers" from french but often integrated into Lavar kerman rugs around the turn of 1900 and slightly before. This is a newer rendition as stated.

One of the photographs the rug showed up to have lighter spots. Often this can be interpreted as slightly lower pile. It could be worth a couple bucks because it's a very pretty rug with decent kpsi but again, we would need to see more photographs because it seems as though there are some condition issues. What I see somewhere in the area of 190 to 225 KPSI.

Thank you for your imput. Someone recently told me they thought it was a Persian Kerman...maybe woven in the 40's.

Unfortunatley, alot of the condition issues have developed in just the last few years...as it was moved from a room that had little traffic, (and no dogs)...to a high traffic area. Adittionally, the dog is the reason why much of the fringe is gone. Anyway, I'll most likely be moving the rug to a much safer place today, thank you for all your help. -Ben

Rug's probably from around 1930's +/-. Post photos of entire rug.
