I again show my inexperience. I bought a Moud rug in July and since then have fallen in love with the art of the rugs. Also, at times, I have acted with very little knowledge, and too much trust.
I just called the elderly Russian past owner of the rug. I wanted to know the exact history of the rug since it was her father's father. Now she says that it wasn't a long time family rug, but she was just told it was over a 100 years old.

I believe that translates to a 1980's rug that has damage at one fringe end and needs washing. The only good news is once repaired I have a great place for it and i still find it an interesting piece.

My gut feeling isn't "boy this is an old rug" with the dark colors faded. The darkest brown still look like a dark chocolate coloralthough not a sharp color as the flower in your symbol. The over all color isn't white as the picture shows, but a grayish cream cardboard color.
