This is the second of three rugs I got at a local auction. The rug measures 83" x 120" with the edge damage along one side. A lot going on in the rug and am looking forward to see where it was made. I would also like to know what a realistic auction price would be on a rug like this since it a little to big for me to use.

Thank-you so much again Sharafi&co. I found these last three rugs at a estate auction on a farm. The owner was better known for collecting glassware. There were seven rugs rolled up and shrink wrapped with plastic thrown off to the side. All you see was about the last foot of rug. Four looked machine made and the three I got looked hand tied. I am very glad I saw them. The sellers didn't know anything about them. Can you tell me what elements you see that identifies it as a Saruk Mir? Anything think I can specifically look for?

Thanks again. I really appreciate you sharing your experience and knowledge. I had never really looked at carpets before. My limited experience has been with Navajo weaving. I find it very interesting the amount of work that goes into these rugs. We have a small house so won't keep this one but hopefully I can sell a few to keep a few.
