Could someone give me an idea where this rug was made and what it might be worth. Also could you tell me anything else about this rug that you can tell from the pictures. The rug is 31" x 50". kansas1412 attached the following image(s):

It's a Pakistani Rug, some people call it Black Talim. Does not seem to have a lot of age. They are made from machine processed wool and chemical dyes. Unfortunately, they do not have much of a second-hand value. First Floor, unit 9 1 Chandos Road London NW10 6NF UK www.sharafiandco.com

Thanks so much for the information. Would you have an estimate of value for the first rug I posted? kansas1412 attached the following image(s):

Kaysari in Turkey does do low knot density silk like this. If it is not artificial silk then the auction value is anything between $500 to $800 and if the silk is artificial then the auction value is $150 to $400. First Floor, unit 9 1 Chandos Road London NW10 6NF UK www.sharafiandco.com

Thanks for the info Sharafi&Co. I will check on the silk. If it is Artificial silk can it also be assumed they used artificial dyes?

The colours in the images do not look too bad. But it would be unlikely that natural dyes would have been used with artificial silk. First Floor, unit 9 1 Chandos Road London NW10 6NF UK www.sharafiandco.com

I did a burn test on a piece of fringe and it is natural not synthetic. The rug I will post next week has a lot higher knot count but my last three rugs all have some damage. They might not have value but they will give me information on what to look for. Thanks so much for the information.
