Size is 126 " x 154". Some damage, a lot of wear and pile loss in some areas. Could someone help with identification, age, and value? Trying to decide if repair is worthwhile. Thanks in advance

Thanks Nick. I didn't realize hamaden had been made with blue cotton wefts.I thought possibly a worn out sarouk. But I'm sure my googling pales to your vast knowledge...so I will take your word :-) Am I right thinking this is single wefted? Turkish knot?. Btw, by repair I ment have the fringe bound to prevent further loss and fix the small hole. I know its worn but it still has amazing color and shows well.

It is a very pretty Bakhtiar. It needs a lot of work but at the moment this "shabby chic" look is very much in demand in the US. So if you want to sell it and you are over there it might be an idea not to repair it. I think in the present market nicely repaired it will go for around $1000 to $1500 in an auction.

Thank you Sharafi & Co. I am in the US and you are correct on the "shabby chic" look being popular. Its not quite my style but the colors and design in this piece really is appealing paired up with my danish modern furniture. I think it will be off for repairs just to keep it from further loss. What age do you think this rug is?
Again, much appreciation for sharing your knowledge!
