I bought this beautiful pink rug at auction and it has a tag saying it's Iranian but I have no idea whether it's handknotted or not, or what it is.

Pics posted. Quite dense thick pile. Anyone have any idea?

You really need to post images of the back and the selveges. But looking at it in these images it appears to be a Pakistani piece to me.

Your rug is a quite contemporary persian Hamadan Sharbaft from the 1995 - 2005. In this period these rugs where made in this design, I had quite a lot of them in different sizes. The color on the back of the rug is brighter, it has quite some light damage / fading. Sometimes these rugs are mistaken for Sarouk due to the color. You should have it washed by a pro and you will be surprised how much better it will look after the wash.
