Friend of mine is looking at this rug from a craiglist site, it is 6'x9' and he is saying it is a Bidjar, and the pix are of poor quality, any help would be appreciated.

From the pictures that you have posted, I would say its a Zanjan weave Bijar, which is the cheaper version of a Bijar. It does not seem to have much age, about 20 years old with chemical dyes.

It is a rug from Jaipur, India with Bidjar design and at least a very fine 14/70 weave or more - made 1990´s. It has fine New Zealand wool and a shine wash. The quality and price is almost equal to medium quality persian Bidjar rugs. If the seller doesn´t go below $450.00 - it is ok if it has none of these issues: Moth damage, defect fringes / selvedge, dry or rotten areas, pet stains. After a professional wash this rug will look really good.

Ha, my friend is not used to the bargaining aspect of buying rugs, I have been to Istanbul a few times and love bargaining with sellers of anything, I educated him on the art of bargaining, he walked out with the rug for 360, he did good, the only thing he said was ti has a slight dog smell, but the rug he said was in great condition, I'm encouraging him to join the board here. He might of gotten the rug bug!!

Thanks everyone!!
