Hi Cartona, thanks for responding - have attached photos oops! 2nd last photo I have tried to show pile, it seems to be a mix and last photo shows how pliable the carpet is. Your assistance to identify and name the rug would be of tremendous help, also an idea of quality and value. Cheers

Hi,
Your rug is made in Pakistan with a cotton foundation and what looks to be wool pile from your pics and this is consistent with what the seller told you.
The design is a combination of several Persian floral designs, but not purely any one design. It is handmade and handknotted and very recent, 2000 to the present. I say this because of the weave in the back, how the fringes are finished, how the selvege (side cords) are wrapped to the end and their roundness, and the design and the borders which are pleasant, but not old.

These rugs do not maintain their retail purchase cost in the resale market, but are very decorative.

Hi Cartona, have done a burn test on both white and colours, simply because they are different fibres (you can't see from pics) seems the white is mercerised cotton and colours are silk (smelt like burnt hair) have attached 2 more photos of burn test and fibres, may help to further identify, thanks.

Hi,
The pile appears to be wool also with the burn test. Wool smells like burning hair when it burns and does not ignite, but balls up and makes a black type ash. On the Rugrag home page there is an article that David the originator of RugRag wrote that is a really excellent piece that explains what to expect when you do a burn test. The foundations of this rug is cotton and the pile appears to be all wool to me. Thanks!!
