Rug acquired in Middle East on travels from reputable seller - not souk - in 2012 receipt only stating "Handknotted Fine Pakistani Silk with medalion design" valued at NZ$2000.00? for insurance. Dimensions 5.0 x 3.2. Very soft high pille and pliable rug - not stiff. I would like to know more about this carpet, e.g. name - can you help, thanks.

I doubt that it is real silk but cannot tell from these images. I wouldn't have thought it is worth more than £600 in a shop. Having said that I have not come across these for a long time.
