Hello -

I would much appreciate an identification and rough appraisal of this rug. This one has dimensions of roughly 4' x 6' but I also have a larger one with similar pattern that is 14.5' x 10' (and also in better shape).

Both were purchased in London in the early 70's at the Harrod's 19th Century Department.

Please let me know if you need any other information...

Hi
The rug was new when you got it in the 70s
Its a rug which was made in Pakistan
I am afraid they have very little value

Thanks for the info Nick. That's a bummer.

I was able to get some snaps of the bigger one just in case.

Hi,
I agree with Nick and the larger one is also a PAK Bohkara rug. But they created their own corner of the market of this Teke design and thete design and wool used is unmistakable.
You should get 7-10 years before it starts to show wear.

Yup. According to parents it wasn't cheap either. Really surprised.

Thanks for the info. We've had it for about it 45 years now and still looks in great shape except for the fringes.

This is a buhara from Pakistan. These buharas are very poorly made. Colors are very bright therefore people love these kind of rugs in the US.
