The seller of this rug is claiming this is a Pakistani Bokhara Silk Rug, the dimensions are 77" X 49"
Any thoughts and opinions would be helpful, these are the only pix of the rug I have at the moment.

Thanks,
Joseph

Hi Joseph,
This is Pakistani for sure, but not silk.Further, these rugs are usually made with very soft, thinner wool where a Jufti knot is used (tied on 4 warps vs. 2 warps) which gives the rug a finer looking weave. Often, they do not wear as well and they may have a side cord (selvege) which will separate from the rug because how it is attached to the rug's structure. I don't know what his asking price is, but I would not advise you to purchase it unless the price is really low and you really want it. What is he asking??

My wife has purchased this for me cause she knows how much I love rugs, it was under $200 dollars, I kinda of doubted the rug being made from silk cause I do know Pakistani rugs use almost exclusively wool, she does have a return policy with the seller, she might be wanting this rug for one room in the guest house.

Thanks so much for your input.

It still looks ok, but these rugs don´t last too long. 200USD is on the upper end.

This is definitely a wool rug. They make silk rugs in Pakistan too but this is a wool one. Both Cartona and KAD is right. They don't last very long. When you vacuum this rug don't use carpet setting, just use floor setting and don't vacuum fringes and salvage cord. (sides of the rug) This will extent the life of your rug. $200 is a good price in the US. Enjoy many years to come.
