Hi,
I purchased a couple rugs this morning. Any information about them is much appreciated. This one is Persian, the cloth tag says Made In Iran. My guess is Heriz?? Age - probably 1970's-80's? Based on the tag and general condition. Rug is in good condition. The only thing I noted is that the bright reds are faded. Probably lay in a place where it got some sun? They are faded on the tops, but bright red if you look at the base of the pile. Other than that, I don't see any issues, it is intact, clean, and doesn't show any wear. Never attacked by someone with a vacuum cleaner! Any additional information is much appreciated. Thanks,
Bruce

Hi,
It's a Jozan from the Malayer/Jozan area which is adjacent to the Sarouk/Arak area. I think 1970 - 1980. Nice rug...I can't see the faded areas.
Update... its weave makes me change my comments...it's from the Hamadan region, a Toisarkan. ..

Hi Cartona,
Thank you. I did a Google search for Toisarkan rug and there was it's twin! The brick red is not faded, but the brighter red is what has faded. In my second picture, the brick red is in the border. The faded red is the diagonal. It looks orange-red in the picture, and in person. But if you bend the pile back, the roots are a bright red which has faded. Still, I have had rugs with much worse problems than this!!!
Thanks,
Bruce

I think it's a Malayer but not a Jozan. About 1970s
