Interesting rug... Northwest Persian border, but same weave, 2-cord selvege, weave, kilim and fringe that are more Turkish. Maybe the Russians are responsible for these designs -- but but the combination of these elems in the same rug, don't put them all into anyone category.

It is azeri / caucasian origin, close to iranian border. Could be Lenkoran (even that Lenkoran ususally have different designs).

Thanks KAD

again spot on with what the dealer advised. (Sparta Baku). According to my scribbled notes he put it at 1930s Lankoran, possibly earlier. This one was a bit more pricey, what would retail / insurance look like now?

best regards

Steven

I'd say Turkish of some sort but not sure where.

1930 seems a bit early, but might be.
