Believe this is a Khamseh chicken rug??. The shop keeper had a tag that was printed and stapled to the rug that had made in Pakistan. I think it was missed identified and is Persian. What do you guys think??

It certainly is not Khamseh. It is what they call Arabbaft Shiraz and not very high quality. The reason for made in Pakistan tag is that this piece most probably was imported during the embargo so they used to put these sort of tickets on them or maybe still do.

Thank you Nick and Sharafi. That explains the Pakistani tag...I had read about this practice. It is really good experience to see one of these... I guess the dead giveaway for Shiraz is the color and the design and elems, bristly wool, but the opposing chickens or roosters, which tribe in the Shiraz region and how old? BTW it is wool on wool and in fair condition for age considerations.
Thank you for responding!
