This one is on Craigslist. The pics are very poor, but I think this may a Mohajaran with dark blue field. It measures @ 9 by 12. The owner describes it as thick, soft pile and vibrant colors.i asked him to send me pics of the back and corners. Etc. These are best pics I got. What do you think..is this the real deal. Looking at the fringes..it is really dirty, so hard to see the vibrant colors he mentioned.

Doesn't look like Sarough, defenetly no Mohajeran. 2 outer borders look more like Merawan or north west persian. If you have better pictures I an tell you more.

KAD,

Thank you!!!. Design looks Sarouk and that's because the popularity of the sarouk design was copied by other regions at that time in the 1920's???, but the structure is not, neither is the wool and the selvedge...right??? Were these Merawan's usually these colors-- dark indigo blue and coral??? I looked back on RugRag and saw references to other Merawan's-- one of which was mine, but it was a smaller one which is somewhat distressed. Thanks again... my education continues..

The back does not look like a Saruk to me, it looks more like from one of Tabriz surrounding towns.
