This rug and another palace size rug were left in a lower level of a house bought by my daughter's acquaintance. The home was owned previously by an antique dealer. They were both rolled up so I wasn't able to take pics of the entire rug. This rug was 12' wide by ??? Can you tell what it is? The other appeared to be a Sarouk.

One of the uploads didn't work. It doesn't look Persian, seems like it has a nice shine, double selvage. Knotting looks like it could be Indian...

Thanks little Persia,
I reattached the pic with the kpsi pic. The part I saw was very lustrous and didn't appear to be Indian...but hard to tell with its being rolled up.

I just reposted 2 of the other pics I took. Hopefully they offer a better clue. Honestly this guy left paintings and furniture in the house for over a year I was told.

Never got a chance to see it again. Interesting that it may be Afghanistan. Or even Chinese. Interesting household.

Agree with rugro. Looks like mid 1990's high end quality from india. Woven legends used to produce high end rugs for US maket in Agra, India. This rug seems to be influenced very much of the rugs made at hat time by many famus companies.

Thank you all...It makes a lot of sense..I met an antique dealer in Grosse Pointe who was has a stake in Woven Legends. I looked at his brochures and he promoted them as being the antiques of the future since so few vegetable dyed, high quality rugs were being produced consistently in the last 50 years.
