We have this rug which is a Maymeh design but the quality is much higher - what are your thoughts on origin? Could it be a Sarouk with a different design?

Joshegan design throughout. depending on weave may be other, but joshegan is probably best

Josheghan would make more sense, it would be the main weaving centre rather than Meymeh when the rug was made... but what do you make of the quality. It seems much higher than any Josheghan or Meymeh rug I have seen.

My thinking was/is that due to its proximity to Kashan it could have been woven here to a Josheghan/Meymeh design?
