Solve an argument for us - Isfahan, Yazd, Tehran or something else?

One of our repair men have a rug which he is claiming is a Tehran rug. Our other repair man is saying Yazd. The owner and myself would be inclined to agree with the latter - I think it appears to be an older Isfahan or town nearby so Yazd would likely fit.

What are others opinions? For the record I've never actually saw a Tehran rug in the flesh so have nothing to compare.

Technically they are very difficult to discern. Kad, if you can share insight please. From what my experience has been, Tehran rugs often are 1. less uniform in shape and than isfahan and 2. carry more green than Isfahan, 3. often have a less precise selvage than isfahan. 4. tend to be unidirectional map in higher proportion of production compared to other

From the 3rd image, knotting, to me it looks similar to some antique Yazd rugs we have, similar texture.

It's one of our repair guys rugs, he's wanting to sell us it but I think he's looking for too much to be able to sell on once restoration is complete.

Tehran rugs are something I had only seen in carpet books, so I bought this rug.

PS. While I am not an expert, the knotting on the rug I have is quite a bit finer. The knots on the rug you have and mine don't look the same, at least to me.

Can't really see the knotting from your images. The colours of the blue in the central medallion looks similar though.
