Hello! I purchased this rug from a local online auction. Total cost was 110 plus buyers fee. I didn't realize how filthy it was until pickup and cleaning it nearly killed me...lol! It is sculpted. Please excuse photos the rug is still damp. Can anyone confirm Type and Age?? Size is just shy of 19'x9'. The tag is faded but I can make out Made in Iran. Although I plan on using this in my family room, Id like to figure out a ball park estimate using rug estimator pro for insurance purposes. I appreciate any help!! Thank You in advance : )

Thanks Nick for your thoughts! I'd really like to ask what about this rug brings you to the conclusion that it's something besides a Kerman? I'm really trying to learn how to better judge what to look for. Any opinions are appreciated!

I think it's a Hamedan Shahrbaft or Ekbatan. This type of production was started by Eastern Khayam in the 1950s. Very good rug and if in good condition must have a replacement value of about USD9000

Kad and Sharafi - please let me know the difference between Kazvin and your mentioned weaving areas. In the US our mentors from yesteryear pass to us this is Kazvin which can also be connected to import docs from the late 50's early 60s'. Low knot count, double weft, sarouk design.
