Hi, I'm a new member and love your site, and for someone who a week ago had no idea in this area, it has provided some great information. I have acquired a few oriental rugs in an estate lot, and I have tried to learn more to ascertain what they are exactly, but I need to request some feedback from the professionals please as I still have no clue!
This rug, along with my others, did not come with any information that may be helpful.
If you could please help me with where it was made and possible age, I would appreciate it.
Cheers
Paul

lovely really. Welcome. The carpet appears old, although I question the age as the fring is quite fresh looking. I see the minor outer stripe blue does not wrap the end. What information do you have on the history of this rug? Do the other rugs show restorations?

Thanks for the ID Nick, much appreciated.

RugPro, there's not much I can pass on in regards to the history, but the estate lot had a wide mixture of antique and modern, so neither answer would surprise me. Everything had been very well looked after for the most part. It looks like it had imprints of where a light table with 4 skinny legs had been sitting on it & ditto for one of the others. There are no signs of repair on this or the other rugs, and all 4 seem to vary with origin & age. I will not bother wasting your time with a Belgian one mixed up with them, but here is a few pics of the rattiest & probably oldest of them, with lots of wear & stains. This one only measures 105cm x 81cm, and possibly you can help me identify this one also while we're at it?
