That's great to hear you purchased a pass! You did well on this rug. It's in rough shape, but this type is hardly ever found with meaningful pile. It appears to be a silk kayseri from 1910, 1920's, probably faux silk. The only thing that has me a little puzzled is the purple wefting, although will see what others have to say. The problem with these is the thread would invariably dry and break, which would leave no pile after many years. They also tend to be very sensitive to staining. This style of worn out carpet is "in", so the value would mostly be decorative, and it is a very decorative rug with great character. Another note is the size is larger than most of these are found - average is usually around 4x6
