I'm curious what some of you experts think about this rug. I certainly wish I knew exactly what to look for and maybe after asking enough I will :)

It certainly is not an antique. It is from Mood or Brigand from Northeast of Iran. It appears to be no more than 20 years old. But a good quality piece, however, not very commercial

Thanks for the information. Can you share what clued you into the age of the rug? Is it because of the shape it is in? Is it because of the design? Is there something I should look for when someone calls a rug an antique that would give it away?
