It certainly is not an antique. It is from Mood or Brigand from Northeast of Iran. It appears to be no more than 20 years old. But a good quality piece, however, not very commercial First Floor, unit 9 1 Chandos Road London NW10 6NF UK www.sharafiandco.com

Thanks for the information. Can you share what clued you into the age of the rug? Is it because of the shape it is in? Is it because of the design? Is there something I should look for when someone calls a rug an antique that would give it away?
