Hello,
I recently bought this rug from a private party and cannot place it's origin. Can anyone tell me what tribe or in what village this was likely woven? The weaving is asymmetric, open right. It is likely from the early 20th century, based on what the seller knows. The warps are dark wool, and the wefts appear to be wool too, brown. Thanks for your insight!

Ver pretty rug, beautiful border. Looks like a Kordi weave to me possibly Bijar Garous. It is a special piece.

Thank you. I like the border a lot too. You know, there are a couple of details that you can't see in the picture that make me doubt that it's Bijar. For one, the warps are not depressed, and for another it is single-wefted. I think of Bijar's being heavily depressed and double-wefted. The rug is quite limp, not stiff like I associate with Bijar. That said, I don't know what it is! I appreciate your input.
