The pics aren't very good but appears to be one of these new production Gabbehs from Iran. Very pretty piece.

Thank you very much!! I had always thought that the Gabbeh's were not that desirable/ quality of a rug. Are the newer productions appreciated more than the older ones due to dye colors, finer weave and wool?? Would you say it is from the 1990's? Forgot to mention the size is 7'5" by 5' 1".

I think post 2000. I am sure you have not seen good Gabbehs. They are very charming and fun pieces. The reason I really like them because they are the products of the weavers imagination and environment and a true art, as opposed to weaving from drawn desi go which are a totally different kind of art. This Gabbehs would have been done from a design given to the weaver. While a very pretty piece with good dyes and wool but it is. It the real McCoy. Not for a purist anyway
