I have a beautiful rug that was left with me when a roomate moved out. The wool(?)is so thick I cannot get my fingers through it. It has been professionally cleaned and stored. I would love to know more about this rug and what it maybe worth, so I can move it on to a good home. Also any help on where I can showcase it to be sold, would be greatly appreciated.

As an addition to my post - This rug is 12X9 and has only this very small hole. No fading or stains.
Thank you.

Hi
It’s a Chinese rug very popular in the 1970/80 but now are out of fashion
in England you would be lucky to get £75.00 ($90)

Thank you Nick.
I have seen other rugs with this pattern called Aubusson. Not sure what that means! Is this rug of that style?

Hello - this appears to be a hand knotted early 1980's Chinese 80 line rug with an Aubusson design

Thank you for the information "Administrator". Do you agree with the price of 90.00 for this rug?

For several reasons I do not comment on questions of value on the forum threads.

Thank you, I respect your stand. Any suggestions on how or where I can get another opinion on value?

Thank you for the suggestion. The estimator priced it around $700, Much different than $90.
Should I repost in the Rug Estimator or does it automatically cross post? I am having such a difficult time getting an idea of value on this rug! Any ideas why this might be?

The information provided earlier is pretty good - 1980's Chinese 80 line rug. See what they go for, then figure a used rug should be less than a rug in unused condition, then private party sale is less then retail shop.
