Hello, hoped someone could help? Recently cleared out the attic and stumbled across these two rugs, inherited form my parents, I hope to discover some information on their make & design, etc. and their value? Sorry, there's very little information to go by, they are Iranian in origin and each was purchased from the Sharjah Souk when my parents lived in Dubai.

Again, apologies there is so little information to go by, I don't profess to be any kind of an expert, ultimately, I hope to sell both rugs and donate the proceeds to a worthy cause.

Thanks all for any help you may be to provide!!

Forgot to mention in my ORIGINAL POST the green rug is 72 x 46 inches and the white rug is 78 x 51 inches.

Ps and also corrected some of my poor English....

ALSO meant to say they were purchased from the Sharjah Souk in the late 1970's.

This is very useful! So you believe they may originate from Pakistan and not Iran? Iran is what my father had recalled to me a few years back, but he may be wrong...

Thanks

Hi - please keep all fresh convo of the same rug on one thread. Also, in the future, kindly post each rug to their own respective thread. Again, these do appear to be Pakistani Lahore rugs. The design is most commonly found in Persian Qom rugs, although these are absolutely not Persian.

This information is very interesting, thank you for your help, would never have guessed Pakistani Lahore. Do you have an estimated value? Understand if it's difficult to put a price on them.

Apologise for posting on separate threads.

Pakistan rugs have no great value i would say they are worth about $100.00 each

These rugs have unique character, good knot density, ok wool. Depending on what type of valuation you're looking for the numbers will fluctuate.

Very good quality rugs from pakistan / lahore. These rugs are much better than what is on the market today coming from pakistan. Age 40+ years fits.

Thanks for the help, everyone. KAD, would you also say these are worth approx. $100 (plus, a little more) each?

I do not necessarily agree with that value range although again I don't speak to values on the forum and am unsure on your value objectives. I am very familiar with this type, they're good rugs, good construction, signed which is fun.
