I would like to have the attached flat weave identified as to,
1) what it is?
2) approx how old?
2) who made / where was it made ?
3) natural or synthetic dyes?
It was bought in Afghanistan in March 1979 and is 1.94m x 1.34m
Thanks in advance
Kay

It is a very pretty Senneh from West of Iran the Kurdish region. I think it is about 80 years old and seems to be in very good condition. The dyes are natural dyes. Good piece

Thanks for the reply gents.
Nick, what do you base your 1970 / 1980 'guess' dating on?
When bought (in Afg in 79) I was told it was from very early 20th century (but of course I don't proclaim, nor did I take that, to being 'gospel by any means) but does fit more with what Sharafi has said. It certainly wasn't a 'newish' rug by any means when bought.
Again, thanks for the input.
